Spurs Upset Rockets in Double Overtime

The Houston Rockets came into this game on a 2 game winning streak after beating a solid Miami Heat team and absolutely roasting the terrible Atlanta Hawks.  The Spurs were coming off a huge 34 point loss to the Pistons and have been struggling all year long.

There were 7 lead changes in this game and the Houston Rockets absolutely gave this one away.  They were leading by as many as 22 points more than halfway through the 3rd quarter,  but managed to give the game away in double overtime.

The Spurs were super deep tonight and had 11 different players score a bucket,  and that ultimately helped them seal the win tonight.  They were led in scoring by Lonnie Walker IV who had 28 points off the bench shooting 10 of 18 from the field and 4 of 7 from downtown.  Walker IV added 4 rebounds,  3 steals,  and a block.

Bryn Forbes was next up for the Spurs with 25 points on an efficient 10 of 13 shooting from the field and 5 of 6 from downtown.  Forbes added 2 rebounds and 4 assists and did all of this only committing 2 turnovers.

DeMar DeRozan was right behind Forbes in scoring with 23 points shooting 9 of 25 from the field and adding 5 boards and 9 assists.

James Harden had another monster night for the Houston Rockets although it wasn’t all that efficient putting up 50 points on 11 of 38 shooting from the field and 4 of 20 shooting from downtown.  Harden added 9 rebounds,  6 assists,  and 4 steals.

Clint Capela was next up for Houston with 22 points on a perfect 9 of 9 shooting from the field.  Capela had a double double with a monstrous 21 rebounds and he also added 2 assists,  a steal,  and 2 blocks.

Russel Westbrook and Austin Rivers both had 19 points.  Westbrook got his 19 shooting 7 of 30 from the field and he had a triple double with 10 rebounds,  10 assists,  2 steals,  and a block.  Rivers scored his 19 by shooting 6 of 8 from the field and an efficient 5 of 6 from downtown.  Rivers added 4 boards,  1 assist,  1 steal,  and 1 block.

The Houston Rockets fall to 13-7 on the season while the Spurs advance to a lowly 8-14.
