Miami Heat Look to Win 6th Straight Against Washington Wizards

The Miami Heat have been surprisingly good this year with the addition of Jimmy Butler and great young player development.  They came into this game on a 5 game winning streak and 24-8 on the season which had them 2nd to only the Bucks in the Eastern Conference.  The Wizards,  on the other hand,  have not been playing very well this season and came into this game at 9-22 on a 2 game losing streak,  and 2nd to dead last in the Eastern Conference ahead of only The Hawks.

The Miami Heat took control of this game early and led by as many 13 point during the 1st quarter.  There were only 3 lead changes in this game,  and The Wizards totally turned around their play at the end of the first half and into the 2nd half of the game.  The Wizards led for the entirety of the 2nd half and The Heat were struggling to stay within a double digit defecit.

The Wizards were led in scoring by Jordan McRae who had 29 points on 9 of 14 shooting from the field and a hot 6 of 8 from three point range.  McRae also contributed 4 boards,  8 assists,  2 steals,  and a block for The Wizards.

Garrison Matthews was next up for Washington with 28 points on 6 of 9 shooting from the field and 4 of 7 from downtown.  Matthews also had 4 rebounds and did this off the bench in only 29 minutes.

Ian Mahimi also had a nice offensive night for the Wizards with 25 points on an efficient 10 of 11 shooting from the field and 2 of 3 from downtown.  Mahimi also added 5 rebounds,  1 assist,  2 steals,  and 2 blocks to his wildly efficient offensive night.

The Heat were led in scoring by Jimmy Butler who had 27 points on only 6 of 10 shooting from the field.  Butler also had 6 rebounds and 4 assists and got most of his points from the free throw line hitting 15 of 19.

Duncan Robinson was next up for The Heat in scoring with 16 points on 5 of 11 shooting from the field and 3 of 8 from three point range.  He also had 4 boards,  an assist,  and a steal.

The Heat had their 5 game winning streak broken and fall to 24-9 on the season while The Wizards break their 2 game skid and move to 10-22 on the season.
