Lakers Extend Streak Against Spurs

The Los Angeles Lakers have been on a roll coming into this game on a 7 game winning streak and winning 14 of their last 15 games.  The Spurs were coming off a single win against the Knicks after losing 8 games straight prior,  which is the most consecutive losses Greg Popovich has seen during his entire tenure as head coach.

This was a back and forth game for the first two and a half quarters before the Lakers finally took off and never looked back.  There were only 6 lead changes in this game in the early going but the Lakers led for the entire duration of the 4th quarter and some into the end of the 3rd as well.  Here is a visual graphic of the breakdown of the game flow thanks to NBA.com:

Lebron James led the Lakers in scoring with 33 points on 13 of 24 shooting from the field and 4 of 7 from downtown.  James added 3 rebounds,  14 assists,  and a block.

Anthony Davis was next up in scoring for the Lakers with 19 points on 7 of 19 shooting from the field and 1/6 from three point range.  Davis added 12 boards,  6 assists,  2 steals,  and 2 blocks.  Even when Anthony Davis isn’t the hottest from the floor,  he still finds ways to deeply impact the game.

The Spurs were led in scoring by LaMarcus Aldridge who had 30 points on 12 of 22 shooting from the field and 1/3 from downtown.  He added 5 boards,  1 steal,  and a 1 block.

DeMar DeRozan was next up for the Spurs with 24 points on 11 of 19 shooting and he added 4 rebounds,  5 assists,  and a block.

The Lakers won their 8th straight game and advanced to 15-2 on the season while the Spurs fell to 6-12.
