Let’s hope we can keep the hot picks going for tonight.  Here are 3 locks and my upset of the night:

Portland over the Nets

What could be an unbelievable matchup between two premier Point Guards, Kyrie Irving and the Brooklyn Nets head to Rip City to take on the Portland Trail Blazers. Both Irving and Lillard are averaging 30 points per game or better this season (Irving – 31.7 Lillard – 30). Brooklyn is averaging over 120 points per game while allowing over 120 a game, while the Blazers are averaging 113 while allowing 114 per game. Though this could be high scoring, the Blazers are a different team at home and the cross-country trip should do in the Nets. Blazers cover the -2.5 spread and win by 6 points.

Dallas over the Knicks

The Mavericks are favored by 11 points in this matchup and that may be too generous. The Knicks average under a 100 points per game while still giving up over 110 points per game. While Marcus Morris and Julius Randle continue to have renaissance seasons, Luka Doncic is changing basketball. The 6’7 shooting guard from Slovenia is averaging 26.7 points, 10 rebounds and 9 assists per game. I see him controlling the pace and the Mavericks running all over the lowly Knicks.

Toronto over the Pelicans

Pascal Siakam is playing out of his might right now. For the season, he is averaging 25.6 points and 9.1 rebounds per game. In his lone game against the Pelicans this season, Siam had 34 points and 18 rebounds. Without Zion Williamson, the Pelicans are still a struggling team and I see the Raptors being too much for them, even with the game in New Orleans. Raptors cover the -2.5 spread and win by 8 points.

Upset of the night Jazz over the Bucks

Both teams come into tonight’s matchup with a 6-2 record. The Bucks are lead by league MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo, who is not-so-quietly averaging 29 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists per game. He has had to take his game to another level since the Bucks lost Malcolm Brogdon in free agency this summer. Leading the Jazz once again is Donovan Mitchell, who is averaging 25 points a game. Though he is off to a slow start, you can already see the impact that newly added PG Mike Conley has had on the Jazz. He is averaging 12 points and 4 assists per game, but has added the veteran leadership this team has needed. The Bucks are favored at -2.5, but I expect the Jazz to steal this one at home and win by 5 points.
